Memorial Day Weekend is a time for remembrance and gratitude, and is also a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and welcome in the summer season! For those of you in the northern U.S. (like us), it has been a long awaited welcome. Just in time for the shift in the weather, we’ve put together a list of the top five welding projects to kick off your summer and enhance your Memorial Day.

Our first two projects have to do with the first thing on everyone’s mind when they think about spring summer, flowers! Potted plants, vines, and shrubs are a fantastic means to enrich any environment and bring beauty to the mundane. One way to take your flora to the next level is implementing a custom stand or trellis.

Building a stand is a great project to utilize and display more of your favorite potted plants, shrubs, and succulents in a unique creative way with limitless possibilities. Some ideas include optical illusions, wall mounts, terraced, or even a stand for hanging plants.

The best part about building your own is that you can alter your design to suit your own style and needs. The same is true for a trellis. You could start out with a standard design and then branch out into the creative or into something totally one of a kind. With an infinite list of creative possibilities, either of these projects is a surefire way to set your garden apart.

The next project on our list is one you never knew you always needed. Many of us take the opportunity to spend more time outdoors in the summer months. Whether it’s participating in a volleyball league, playing sand bags and horseshoes with friends, or just relaxing in the yard and soaking up the sun, the one thing you always need is an ice-cold beverage. The problem in all of those settings is that there’s no decent place to set your drink. The perfect solution to that pesky little problem is your own lawn cup holder. Once again there are countless opportunities for alterations to fit your specific preferences, so go wild! Create something that is undeniably you and you’ll want to take it everywhere!

The final two items on our list go hand-in-hand with each other and the summer season. A fire pit and a grill are standard equipment for any outdoor enthusiast and they’re items that aren’t all that difficult to construct for yourself.
