Tillman Winter Gloves Guide
Oct 23rd 2019
Whether you’re clearing snow from your vehicle or working the entire day in sub-zero temperatures, the John Tillman Company has the right winter gloves for you.
Known for quality materials and durable construction, Tillman’s winter gloves are made with a variety of insulators that offer different levels of warmth and dexterity. And the materials used for the outer shell vary from latex to leather to keep hands warm and protected. And many gloves have special features such as hi-vis, knit cuffs, padded palms, and reinforced fingertips.
With so many options it can be difficult to choose, but what it really comes down to is finding the right glove for the job. Is warmth a priority or is flexibility? What if you need both?
When it comes to warmth, Tillman’s winter gloves are lined with natural and synthetic materials ranging from thick, heavyweight pile to flexible, lightweight Thinsulate. The following list of insulators can help you decide the level of warmth you need (click on the product numbers following each description to check out the corresponding Tillman gloves):
Pile
Thicker heavyweight synthetic wool material. 1450
Fleece
A lightweight option that is warmer than cotton/foam linings but less bulky than some insulators. 1404, 1412, 1425
Cotton/Foam
Lightweight, economical option. Provides warmth and will absorb moisture. 1578
Cold Block
Tillman’s own insulation creation that consists of a poly/cotton blend that keeps hands warm. 1568
Polar Fleece
Soft napped insulating fabric made from polyester with moderate warmth. 1581, 1584, 1586
Acrylic Shell
Lightweight synthetic with minimal warmth that absorbs moisture. 1772, 1773
Thinsulate
Breathable and moisture-resistant, the fibers of Thinsulate are more effective at trapping air and keeping hands warm while allowing moisture to escape. Higher gram insulation means greater warmth but reduced flexibility.
40 Gram for cool conditions or high activity levels: 1468, 1485, 1486, 1495
100 Gram for colder conditions or lighter activity levels: 865, 1403, 1419, 1565, 1567, 1590, 1592
