O.K., folks, don't laugh. I searched the internet and selected these gloves to use when using cast-iron skillets in a 450-degree oven in my kitchen. I wanted reliable heat protection, good hand-and-forearm coverage, and decent dexterity. I also wanted "Made in USA," because almost everything I have seen on Amazon appears to be manufactured by the same one or two suppliers in China, and I flat-out don't trust those products with my personal safety. Although the Black Stallion gloves are very large (which, I suppose, is to be expected for their originally intended use in high-heat industrial occupations), they beat everything else that I have found for use in high-heat oven cooking. Yes, the gloves are expensive, but, they cost a lot less than a trip to the Emergency Room. with burned hands.
